Biography

Chris acts for WorkSafe Victoria, leading employers and self-insurers, and a range of statutory authorities and government bodies on workers compensation, personal injury and occupational health and safety matters across Victoria.

His practice covers defendant insurance litigation and advisory across the full workplace and insurance portfolio: WorkCover, common law personal injury, dependency claims, judicial review, public liability and self-insurer advisory. He also advises on occupational health and safety matters and manages the firm's regional circuit practice across the Ballarat and Warrnambool areas.

Chris' work spans complex insurance litigation across all Victorian jurisdictions, including the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Court of Appeal, as well as VCAT and the County and Magistrates Courts. He leads Faculti's Workplace and Insurance Services team and serves as the relationship partner for WorkSafe Victoria, managing the firm's engagement with the authority across its full panel mandate.

Chris brings more than 20 years of exclusive defendant-side practice on the largest statutory compensation scheme in Victoria. His depth of experience across every category of workers compensation and personal injury work, combined with his leadership of the Workplace and Insurance Services team and relationship partner role with WorkSafe Victoria, positions him as the senior point of contact for the firm's most significant workplace insurance client relationships.

Advising self-insured companies on claims management strategy and occupational health and safety obligations, helping clients manage exposure and maintain compliance across their workers compensation programs.

Personal injury and administrative law disputes

Acting for statutory bodies and self-insured companies in personal injury and administrative law disputes across the County Court, Magistrates Court and VCAT.

Regional circuit management

Managing the Ballarat and Warrnambool Supreme, County and Magistrates Court circuits for WorkSafe Victoria on a long-running basis, providing consistent regional coverage across a significant geographic footprint.
